ICSS has been working with Fareshare for the past three years to collect end of day supermarket collections of excess food and groceries from supermarkets such as Tesco and Waitrose, these are then sorted and distributed to needy families and vulnerable individuals within the local community. It has now been over one year since ICSS has been making these collections since the start of the pandemic in March 2020 and subsequent lockdowns. These food collections have been invaluable to those who stayed indoors and often isolated during lockdown. Fareshare compiled a case study of the work carried out by ICSS for it’s internal and external communications.
